OpenEmu is a better frontend than RetroArch. Sometimes I spent more time playing with LaunchBox than I did games. Unfortunately there’s nothing like EmulationStation or LaunchBox on MacOS. I still need to spend more time with it to hopefully get things working.

I've been playing around with the Mac build of PCSX2, but haven't had much luck with it. I prefer not having to mess around with updating ROMS since I have a curated list. I may try OpenEmu in the future if I can't find another frontend. I don't think it's being developed anymore. I also use standalone MAME with QMC2 for a frontend. You're going to have to build it yourself for the newest version. The version of PPSSPP available on the site is really old. I use standalone PPSSPP and Dolphin since OpenEmu doesn't have any of the settings. Redream is excellent for Dreamcast games. I use RetroArch for 3DO, Neo Geo, and PS1 or Saturn games I want to run with a higher internal resolution. OpenEmu is the core of my Mac emulation setup due to its ease of use and excellent configuration for multiple controllers.
